Virtual Asset Standard

As the virtual assets ecosystem continues to evolve, strong governance and regulatory compliance remain critical. Fasset FZE has developed its Virtual Asset Standards based on VARA regulations to ensure that virtual assets are evaluated and managed in line with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.Fasset FZE considers considers the following factors when assessing all Virtual Assets:

  • Market capitalisation, fully diluted value, and liquidity
  • Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, rules, and directives, including but not limited to those relating to AML/CFT, sanctions, securities, and intellectual property.
  • Design, features, and use cases of the Virtual Asset.
  • Regulatory treatment by global authorities relevant to Fasset FZE, including to ensure that the virtual asset has received the relevant regulatory approvals;
  • Whether a Virtual Asset is prohibited by global authorities relevant to Fasset FZE in relation to the Virtual Asset;
  • The security and immutability of the underlying DLT protocol;
  • The future development [e.g. “roadmap”] as communicated by the Issuer and/or relevant developers;
  • Whether it may be susceptible to price manipulation for any reason, and we implement transaction and trade monitoring tools as mitigation;
  • Conflicts of interest (actual or potential);
  • The background of its Issuer including, but not limited to, relevant experience in the Virtual Asset sector and whether it has been subject to any investigations or claims in relation to fraud or deceit;
  • Sufficient assets are available to satisfy any obligation with respect to any VA Activities;
  • Initial and regular reviews of Virtual Asset terms and conditions, ensuring they align with existing underlying physical markets and avoid adverse impacts, if applicable.
  • Periodic review of Virtual Asset terms and conditions to ensure correlation with physical markets and adherence to industry standards and practices, if applicable.
